It was a bright August morning when Cal and his classmates walked into their classroom. On the board, their teacher, Mrs. Maple, had written in big, sparkly letters:
“Happy National Tooth Fairy Day – August 22!”
The class gasped in delight.
“Does that mean the real Tooth Fairy is coming here?” asked Mia, her eyes wide with excitement.
Mrs. Maple chuckled. “Well, maybe not today, Mia. But it is a special day to celebrate the magic and tradition of the Tooth Fairy!”
Cal raised his hand. “I lost a tooth last week! The Tooth Fairy gave me a shiny dollar coin.”
“That’s awesome,” said Jordan. “The Tooth Fairy once left me a note shaped like a tooth. She must have teeny-tiny handwriting.”
Everyone laughed.
Mrs. Maple pulled out a glittery box from her desk. “Inside here,” she said mysteriously, “are special envelopes. Long ago, children would sometimes place their lost teeth in envelopes or under little pillows. Today, we’re going to make our own Tooth Fairy pouches!”
The students clapped. They got to work decorating small envelopes with stickers, drawings of fairies, and sparkly glitter. Cal drew a smiling tooth with wings, while Mia glued on stars and hearts.
When they finished, Mrs. Maple said, “Now, let’s share our favorite Tooth Fairy stories.”
Eli grinned. “Once, I tried to stay awake to see her, but I fell asleep and only woke up to find the money under my pillow!”
“Same here!” said Cal. “The Tooth Fairy is sneaky.”
Finally, Mrs. Maple held up a shiny gold star sticker. “The Tooth Fairy may not visit us in class today, but we can still celebrate the magic. Each of you gets a star—because just like the Tooth Fairy, you all bring a little sparkle wherever you go.”
The class beamed with pride, clutching their decorated pouches. Cal whispered to Mia, “Maybe tonight, the Tooth Fairy will see my pouch and leave me another surprise.”
Mia giggled. “Only if you lose another tooth, Cal!”
Everyone laughed, and the classroom sparkled with the magic of the day.
